“We are so happy we chose Little Black Umbrella for our wedding photography. Pat is not only professional and knowledgeable, but also very easy to work with. He suggested ideas for our photos that we never would have thought of, and he was very clear with his instructions so we ended up with a variety of amazing photos. He was a joy to be around and he made our wedding day fun and stress-free. We will definitely be contacting Little Black Umbrella the next time we are looking for professional photography!”

“Little Black Umbrella never disappoints with their creativity and technical know how. When it finally came time in my life to get married, Patrick was the first call on my list. Luckily for me he was available for my wedding date. He was a pleasure to be with and always made us comfortable. The end product was STUNNING!”

Weddings offer a wonderful opportunity to capture images of love, commitment, and happiness. You’ve spent countless hours planning your special day, and finding the right photographer to capture the moments is no easy task! You’re working with your budget, the date of your wedding, and (hopefully) an idea in mind of the types of photos that are most important to you. As a photographer, my goal is to always exceed my clients’ expectations. As such, I am equally invested in ensuring that we are a good match for each other.

There are two primary approaches to wedding photography. Classic wedding photography focuses more on posed photographs, while the new documentary approach details your special day from the ‘fly on the wall’ perspective. But which one should you pick? The simplest answer is both.

On your wedding day, you certainly want those posed photos for group shots and romantic, storybook memories. But at the same time, you don’t want to miss those candid shots of the flower girl giggling, or a close family memory brushing a tear from their cheek. My style blends both of these photograph styles; I endeavor to capture moments as they unfold, while ensuring we still have enough time to create some beautiful images of the day you and your partner began your lives together.
